Day 1 – The Life

 

Meeting 1 – Living in the Spirit

 

1.      Back to the beginning (1 John 1:1-4; 2:24)

a.       The Lord is simple (2 Tim. 2:13; 1 Thess. 5:24)

b.      The life, the church and the gospel

2.      Living in the Spirit (Phil. 1:21)

a.       Being confident in what we have received

i.        The Spirit living in our spirit (2 Tim. 1:7)

ii.      The anointing teaches all things (1 John 2:20, 27)

iii.    The truth, advocate and light (1 John 5:6; 2:1; 1:5)

Meeting 2 – Time with the Lord

c.       Time with the Lord is profitable for all things (1 Tim. 4:8)

d.      Investing our time into the kingdom for a sure return (Luke 19:17)

2.      Giving our Lord the best time

a.       Seek a quality time of touching the Lord in the morning (Psa. 63.1)

b.      Obey the Lord when He calls us to His word (Rev. 10:8-10)

c.       Make it part of our lives – start while we are young (Eccl. 12:1; 1 Tim. 3:15)

d.      It’s an investment requiring us to be faithful (Matt. 25:14-30)

e.       Read the Bible consecutively both Old and New Testaments (1 Tim. 3:15)

3.      Practically to spend time with the Lord

a.       Eating the Lord (1 Pet. 2:2; Eph. 6:17-18)

i.        Open our mouths (Deu. 30:14; Psa. 119:103;  Jer. 15:16; Rom. 10:8)

ii.      Pray read the word (Eph. 6:17-18; John 6:63)

iii.    Let the word dwell in us richly to testify (1 John 2:13-14)

Meeting 3 – Our Sanctification

3.      Our desire to make God’s name holy

a.       By purging and purifying ourselves (2 Tim. 2:21; 1 John 3:3)

b.      By taking in God’s life and word (1 Thess. 5:23; 1 Pet. 2:1)

c.       By not grieving the Holy Spirit of God (Eph. 4:30)

d.      By not quenching the Spirit (1 Thess. 5:19)

f.       By fleeing youthful lusts (2 Tim. 2:22)

Day 2 – The Church

 

Meeting 4 – Building the Church Daily By Taking Responsibility

 

1.      What is the church-life?

a.       Daily growth and exercise; walking by the Spirit with the saints and in our personal life – to be perfected as one (Eph. 4:11-16)

b.      Everything we do must be for profit of the kingdom (Rom. 14:19; Matt. 6:33)

c.       It is our entire life – In the meetings and outside the meetings (Acts 2:44-47)

2.      Why do we build the church?

a.       Present everyone perfect before Christ  (Col. 1:28)

b.      Original purpose of God: to have people in His image, representing Him and ruling on the Earth  (Gen. 1:26-27)

c.       Become a testimony of oneness to the world, religion and the spiritual realm (John 17:20-23)

3.      How do we build the church?

a.       Begin in your locality

b.      Exercise in the meetings (1 Cor. 14:26)

c.       Daily life (Acts 2:44-47)

d.      Strengthen and supply the saints in a practical way (Acts 6:1-7; Col. 3:16)

e.       Surround ourselves with the saints – not worldly friends (2 Tim. 2:22)

f.       Mutual edification (Rom. 1:11-12, Heb. 10:25)

 

 

Meeting 5 – The Oneness in the Church

 

1.      God’s chosen place

a.       Seek the Lord for His place – it is not our choice (Deu. 12:5-8)

b.      Zion – a dry and barren place (Psa. 132:13-18)

c.       Testimony of oneness (Psa. 133)

2.      Babylon

a.       God’s judgment when His people turned from His ways (2 Chron. 36:11-21)

i.        Hardened hearts and stiff neck (Heb. 3:15; 4:7)

ii.      God’s divided people defeated and carried away to Babylon (Matt. 12:25)

b.      The world’s best culture, education, food, religion (Dan. 1:4-5)

c.       Built many synagogues according to man’s choice

i.        Place to teach God’s word, to do charitable deeds, pray,  and feast  (Matt. 4:23; 6:2, 5; 23:6)

ii.      It’s also the synagogue of Satan (Rev. 2:9; 3:9)

3.      God’s call to rebuild Jerusalem and Zion (Ezra 1:1-4)

a.       Not many came back (Ezra 2:64)

b.      Conditions in rebuilding Jerusalem and Zion

i.        Opposition and discouragement (Ezra 4:1-5)

ii.      Building even stopped (Ezra 4:23)

iii.    God spoke in Zion words of encouragement to continue the rebuilding (Hag. 1:2-8)

iv.    Build with one hand and defend with the other hand (Neh. 4:15-23; Isa. 62:6-7; Eph. 6:10-20)

4.      Today in the New Testament – the church is Mount Zion and the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22-23; Eph. 2:20-22)

a.       God is still calling His people out of Babylon (Rev. 18:4)

b.      Testimony of oneness (Eph. 4:1-3; Acts 11:22;  13:1; Rev. 1:11)

 

 

Meeting 6 – The Building Up in Love

 

1.      Bearing with one another in love (Eph. 4:1-3)

a.       Our love for one another is a mark of spiritual maturity (1 Cor. 13)

b.      Our broken fellowship is a disgraceful testimony to unbelievers (1 Cor. 6:5; 1:10)

c.       The sons of God are peacemakers (Matt. 5:9)

2.      Speaking the truth in love (Eph. 4:15-16)

a.       Talk to God before talking to the person (James 4:1-2)

b.      Always take the initiative (Matt. 5:23-24)

c.       Sympathize with their feelings (Psa. 73:22; Prov. 19:11; Rom. 15:1-20)

d.      Confess your part of the conflict (Matt. 7:5; 1 John 1:8)

e.       Address the problem, not attack the person (Prov. 15:1; 16:21; Eph. 4:29)

f.       Cooperate as much as possible (Rom. 12:18; Phil. 2:3)

g.      Emphasize reconciliation, do not resolution (1 Pet. 3:11)

3.      Dealing with offenses

a.       Not bringing your gift to altar if your brother has something against you  (Matt. 5:23-24)

b.      Not causing others to stumble (Matt. 18:6, Rom. 14:21, 1 Cor. 8:9-13)

c.       Forgiving your brother (Luke 17:3-4)

d.      Do not be so easily offended (Luke 7:23)

e.       Endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Eph. 4:3)

f.       Sometimes the Lord has to speak a strong word to you (Matt. 16:15-23)

4.      The blessing of brothers dwelling in oneness (Psa. 133)

a.       Loving one another (1 John 4; John 13:34-35)

 

 

Day 3 – The Gospel

 

Meeting 7 – The Love for the People

 

1.      Man’s destiny without God

a.       Eternal damnation (Rev. 20:15)

b.      No justification and no peace with God (Rom. 5:1)

c.       No hope and no joy (Rom. 14:17; 15:13; Gal. 5:22; Phil. 4:1; 1 Thess. 2:19-20)

d.      No certainty and no perspective (Psa. 18:2; Eccl. 3:20; Hosea 14:3; 1. Pet. 1:24)

e.       Lawlessness and no truth (2 Thess. 2: 9-12; 2 Tim. 3:1-7)

f.       No fellowship (1 Cor. 1:9)

g.      No father (Matt. 23:9; Rom. 8:16-17)

h.      No saints, brothers and sisters (Phil. 4:1; 1. Thess. 2:19-20)

2.      The Lord’s compassion for all people

a.       God loves men and desires all men to be saved (John 3:16; 1 Tim. 2:3-4)

b.      We were saved by the Lord (Deut. 7:7)

c.       Love your neighbor as yourself (Lev. 19:18)

d.      We sow in tears and reap with joy (Psa. 126)

e.       We share the good news (Psa. 40:9; 96:2; Rom. 10:13-15)

f.       The gospel is the truth (Col. 1:5)

3.      Man’s destiny with God

a.       To be kings and priests (Hebr. 12:28; 1. Pet. 2:9; Rev. 1:6)

b.      To be His bride (Rev. 21:9)

c.       To live in the New Jerusalem  (Rev. 3:12; Rev. 21:2)

 

 

Meeting 8 – Prayer

 

1.      Without ceasing – always (Acts 10:2, 9; 12:5; 16:25; Luke 18:1; Eph. 6:18)

2.      With the saints in the church (Acts 1:14; 3:1; 12:5; 16:16)

3.      For ourselves

a.       To be filled with faith for the unbelievers (Matt. 9:2)

b.      We also would repent for the Christians in Babylon (Dan. 9:3-12)

4.      For the full salvation of all people (Acts 4:31; 8:15; 9:40; 28:8; Eph. 6:18)

5.      For the building up of the church (Acts 1:24; 4:31; 13:3; 14: 23)

6.      For the Lord’s second coming (Rev. 22:17, 20)

7.      Against God’s enemy (Acts 12:5; Eph. 6:10-20)

 

 

Meeting 9 – Practice Preaching the Gospel

 

1.      Gospel preaching should be easy and normal (John 4:29)

2.      Gospel preaching takes practice (2 Tim. 4:1-2)

3.      Preach the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 28:18-20)
